Both phones are so much alike and have more similarities than differences, and hence we’ve clubbed the review but will call out differences when appropriate. We were impressed by the style, the design and the elements used in building the phones during our initial impressions and that stays. Both phones sport exact same looks and in some angles resemble Samsung’s S6 series. As a matter of fact, we had some friends coming and asking us if we got the S6 and in some cases it was us successfully fooling others in having them think we had the S6 – mission accomplished Samsung!...

Honey, I gave the A52 some Complan! With the Galaxy A52, Samsung took a very different path when it comes to design. It ditched the whole glass/glass-like (glasstic?) back design ethos and not only embraced polycarbonate with open arms but also turned it into a cause for celebration. The design of the Galaxy A52 was so distinct that it became one of the highlights of the smartphone. Fortunately, Samsung has followed the same design blueprint quite religiously in the case of the Galaxy A72 as well....

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 The all-new Galaxy Note 20 features a 6.7-inch S-AMOLED display with Full-HD resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Being a Samsung phone, the display employs the hole-punch cutout for housing the front-facing camera. Besides, there is also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for authentication and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The Note 20 comes in three colorways: Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray, and Mystic Green....

Display For starters, the Galaxy Note 9 comes with a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. When compared to the last-gen Galaxy Note 8, the display on the Note 9 is now 0.1-inches bigger while the resolution stays the same. The form factor, however, is more or less similar. What’s the formula for success? Clearly, Samsung knows a thing or two about this, having followed a similar strategy for its Galaxy S, S2 and S III smartphones – each model a bigger success than its predecessor. And with its latest flagship, the Galaxy S4, the Korean manufacturer hasn’t broken the mold, and is attempting to follow the same tried and tested route to the top. Each and every aspect of the S III has been beefed up – from the hardware to the software, to come up with a device that’s so loaded that a hard copy of its spec and features sheet probably weigh much more than the handset itself....

The biggest highlight of both the phones is something called “variable aperture” for the cameras. The feature will essentially allow the user to switch different aperture sizes — f/1.5 and f/2.4 — for clicking better pictures in both daylight and low light scenarios. Both of them sport a 12-megapixel lens on the rear and an 8-megapixel f/1.7 selfie camera on the front. In addition to that, the larger of the two, the Galaxy S9+ will have a secondary 12-megapixel optically stabilized sensor for possibly accelerating focus speeds and producing depth-of-field effects....

The new bug is not about a botched up functionality but it is something that can be used to spy on others notifications. You can simply set the “Show Previews” feature set to display only “When unlocked.” This will hide the content of your notifications on the lock screen. This, however, can be bypassed by using Siri. According to Mac Magazine Siri was able to read out hidden messages from third-party apps like Signal and WhatsApp on iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus, both of which are running the latest iOS 11....

AirPods inspired? As much as companies would like you to believe that true wireless earbuds do not fall out of ears, let us tell you one thing: they do. The only difference is that some fall out more often than others. The Skullcandy Indy fall in the “others” category in this case. “Call recording is completely cloud-based, and as soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded,” explains Microsoft’s Skype team. “Call recordings combine everyone’s video as well as any screens shared during the call.” Since its original release in 2003, Skype never had a call recording feature till date. There have been a few third party apps and services which users had to resort to in order to record skype calls, but with this new feature, it can now be done natively, which is a welcome move....

Slack will also be revealing the number of active users on its platform which seems to be pegged at 2-Million, a rather healthy number for inducing new features, tools and earning revenue. It is but obvious that Slack wants to create a rack of premium features in order to broaden the Gap between its paid service and the free ones. Botkit Slack has been working with Howdy, a start-up focused on building chat-based Slack apps and they would be soon releasing the Botkit under an open-source license....

When it comes to Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC), Sony’s WH-1000X series has a place of its own, and the WH-1000 XM3 are supposed to be the best of the lot and rival even Bose’s legendary QC-35 II headphones, which many used to consider the last word in ANC. Sony’s sound is a trifle more bass-friendly than Bose’s softer signature tone but takes it from us; these are as good as any headphones you will get for under Rs 40,000, delivering rich sound that is a treat for the years....

On paper, Sony has gone with the same camera module as we saw on the Xperia Z2. It still features the same 20.7 MP camera on the rear while a 2.2 MP front camera.
