To start off, the Galaxy Note7 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel up front and inherits design cues from the Edge series flaunting curved aesthetics on both sides of the display. It is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor (Exynos 8890 in some countries), 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage which is expandable via a MicroSD card up to 256GB and a 3500 mAh non-removable battery underneath with quick charging and wireless charging capabilities. That’s right! There is only one storage variant of Galaxy Note7. Anyone who wants more should look at the microSD option. The camera arrangement includes a promising 12MP rear f/1.7 lens, Optical Image Stabilization, Dual Pixel technology for better shots in dark scenarios and a 5MP front module that is also assisted by OIS. The Note7 supports (LTE) category 9, 10 and 12 and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note7 sports IP68-grade water and dust proofing which allows users to operate it even in wet conditions through the S-Pen. Speaking of the stylus, it has been slimmed down further to 0.7mm from 1.6mm, button’s position has been lowered and the sensitively has been doubled for better response. Software wise, S-pen can now automatically translate words as soon as you tap them. It runs on Android Marshmallow with Samsung’s Touchwiz skin layered over. The Galaxy Note7 also features an Iris biometric sensor which is compatible with Samsung’s Knox technology enabling better security functions. The Korean giant has also added something called “Samsung Pass” that will allow users to authenticate themselves for mobile commerce services through the iris scanner and there’s Samsung Pay support too. There’s also a Secure Folder feature that lets you situate apps, documents, photos, and videos away into a top secret location accessible only by the owner. Fortunately, it doesn’t give up the traditional fingerprint scanner which has been housed under the home button here too. Samsung’s new Note7 will be available in silver titanium, black onyx, and blue coral color variants. Pre-orders will commence from August 3rd on major carriers in the US and the worldwide sales scheduled for August 19th. India launch of Galaxy Note7 is on August 11th as we reported earlier. As for the pricing, Galaxy Note7 has been priced at $880 in the US.
